CHENNAI: The Budget session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly is scheduled to begin on August 4 with Finance Minister O Pannerselvam all set to present the budget for 2011-12, the first since the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam returned to power in the State. In an official release on Sunday, Assembly Secretary A M P Jamaludeen said Speaker D Jayakumar had convened the session of the State Assembly for presentation of the Budget.The annual financial statement is set to make allocations for free laptops, mixies and grinders. Announcements related to solar-powered green houses and a comprehensive public health insurance scheme are also expected to be made during the session. An interim budget was presented in February by the previous Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government.
