CHENNAI: Discussions between the Tamil Film Producers Council and the Film Employees Federation of South India over the wage revision of film employees will be suspended till the latter tenders an apology to the former, said a press release issued by the producers on Friday.This follows the film crew’s refusal to cooperate for the shoot of two Tamil films - ‘Alex Pandian’ and ‘Kaatumalli’. According to the office-bearers of the council, the protests were set off by director Ameer, who has vociferously been supporting higher wages for film employees, to settle scores with the producers of Alex Pandian over the remake rights of his film ‘Paruthiveeran’. Until the director and Film Employees Federation of South India tender an apology, the producers will not engage In talks with the FEFSI over wage revision, said a release. As a mark of protest against the FEFSI’s attitude, all film shoots will be cancelled on March 19, Monday.
