HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress leaders comprising ministers, MPs and MLAs will visit Delhi on December 23 to exert pressure on the party high command on their Telangana demand, though deep down their hearts they know that grant of statehood to the region is a distant possibility.Senior leaders K Jana Reddy, K Keshava Rao and Basawaraju Saraiah met here on Sunday and discussed informally the forthcoming Delhi visit. They decided to continue their fight in and out of Parliament to force the central government to honour its December 9, 2009 statement.Speaking to reporters later, Keshava Rao said they did not have any differences and all Telangana Congress leaders and cadres were united on and committed to the cause. Asserting that the Centre did not make any proposal to resolve the issue, he said the proposals for a second SRC, a regional development council and a special package were only media creation. He made it clear that they were not ready to accept any proposal other than complete statehood to Telangana.“After the Centre had gone back on its December 9 promise, nearly 700 youths and students committed suicide but neither Parliament nor the state Assembly found it imperative to solve the problem. I am ashamed that it is still being debated and discussed,’’ the Congress leader saidHe took exception to Union home minister P Chidambaram’s statement that he would seek the opinion of all parties on Telangana and said  he was surprised that the Union home minister repeatedly sought opinions from all parties. “The TDP had already agreed to the idea of state’s bifurcation and gave a letter to the Pranab Mukherjee Committee. The CPM too said it did not have any objection to a Telangana state,’’ Rao recalled. When a BJP member moved a private member’s bill in the Rajya Sabha, several other members raised the issue which made the chairman adjourn the House. He said that he, V Hanumanth Rao and CPI’s Aziz Pasha were prepared to take part in the discussion by submitting a special report to the House on the history of the demand for separate Telangana.
