VIJAYAWADA/GUNTUR: Guntur Wineshop Merchants Welfare Association president Gadde Tirupathi Rao and three others, on Wednesday, filed petitions separately for anticipatory bail in the court of the special judge for ACB cases.
The three others are: Koneru Shivaramaprasad of Sri Siva Sai syndicate, Guntur, Sunil Deep, accountant at Nallabothu Srinivas Rao syndicate, Guntur, and V Umamaheshwar Rao, owner of Nice Bar and Restaurant, Vijayawada. It is learnt the petitions might come up for hearing on February 13.Meanwhile, ACB officers of Vijayawada range questioned the leaders of two syndicates in Guntur district, Nallabothu Srinivasa Rao and Marri Subba Reddy at the ACB office in Vijayawada after obtaining necessary sanction from ACB judge T Simhachalam. The ACB got three days to interrogate them daily from 10 am to 6 pm, while allowing them to meet their advocates for 15 minutes every two hours during the interrogation.

According to sources, ACB joint director Satayanarayana, who arrived on Tuesday, is camping in Vijayawada to monitor the investigation progress.

Meanwhile, excise minister Venkataramana's followers observed bandh at Repalli and the minister's native Nizampatnam on Wednesday. Shops, schools, hotels and other commercial establishments were closed.
