Singapore: Force India's Adrian Sutil set the seventh-fastest time in Friday's second practice session ahead of Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix.
Sutil clocked 1:48.866s during his 32 laps in FP2, bettering his 1:52.251s timing set in the first practice session earlier in the day.
Sutil's teammate Paul Di Resta was ninth in FP1 with a timing of 1:52.435s.
Even though he bettered his timing (1:50.345s) in the second practice session, he could only set the 13th-fastest time.
Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel topped the timesheets, clocking 1m 46.374s followed by last year's winner Fernando Alonso, who was close behind on 1m 46.575s in the Ferrari.
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was another half second shy on 1m 47.115s.
"I always enjoy street circuits and today's sessions went pretty well for me. It usually takes a while to get back in the rhythm, especially on such a long lap as Singapore, but I got up to speed quite quickly," Sutil said.
"The general car balance has been good all day with just some understeer in the high and low speed corners to solve. By the time I was running on the supersofts the understeer issue was much better. We did some good work on both tyre compounds with some long runs in the second session."
"The supersofts obviously give a lot more grip, but the drop-off in performance after a few laps is quite big," he added.
