HYDERABAD: The Telangana issue and the suicide of an MBA student in Warangal for the cause of separate Telangana rocked the state Assembly on Monday.The House was adjourned for the day without transacting any business.Legislators belonging to the TRS and the Telangana Telugu Desam Forum along with the newly-elected member Nagam Janardhan Reddy stormed the Speaker’s podium as soon as the House began after a three-day break and raised slogans demanding that a resolution be passed seeking creation of a separate state and a discussion on the death of Bhojya Naik.Amidst the din, Speaker adjourned the proceedings for 15 minutes.The protesting members, however, stayed put at the podium and continued with their sloganeering when the House resumed after an hour.The TRS strength swelled to 16 in the House with the addition of four new members who were elected in the byelections last week.The newly-elected MLAs of TRS (four), BJP (one) and Janardhan Reddy (Independent) took oath on Monday while YSR Congress Party MLA did not attend the Assembly.T Rajaiah referred the names of Telangana martyrs while taking oath which forced the Speaker to intervene and asked the member to read the oath as per the laid down rules.The TRS members brought flexi banners of Naik into the House which was objected to by the speaker leading to a pandemonium in the House for over 10 minutes.As the protesting MLAs remained unrelenting, the speaker adjourned the House for the day without transacting any business.After adopting two bills - The Andhra Pradesh Excise and the Andhra Pradesh (regulation of Trade in Indian Made foreign liquor, Foreign liquor) Acts (Amendment) Bills 2012 and the AP University of Law (Amendment) bill, 2011 (as passed by the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council with Amendments) by finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, the House was adjourned for the day.
