CHENNAI: Municipal Administration Minister K P Munusamy on Monday morning inaugurated a Chennai Corporation project to build storm water drains in the Kodambakkam area. The work, which is estimated to cost Rs 5.56 crore, is aimed at clearing rain water during the storm season and preventing waterlogging in the area. The funds for the work are part of the Rs 500 crore allocated by the Tamil Nadu government for infrastructure development in Chennai.Munusamy instructed officials to ensure the work was completed in four months time, to ensure zero stagnation in the area in the coming storm season. He inaugurated the project in the presence of Chennai Mayor Saidai S Duraisamy, T Nagar MLA V P Kalairajan and Corporation Zone X zonal committee chairman LIC Manickam.
