State to ignore Jaya statements: Chandy

KOCHI:  The government will not pay heed to the statements made by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha in an advertisement, in connection with the Mullaperiyar dam issue, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.Talking to reporters at the Ernakulam guest house on Saturday before attending a meeting in connection with toll collection on Edappally-Mannuthi National Highway, Chandy said that the statements need not be taken seriously as everyone had the right to express their views.The state is united on its stand on ‘Water for Tamil Nadu and Safety for Kerala’. “The state is concerned over the safety of the people whose lives are in danger,” Chandy said.The State Government has good relations with Tamil Nadu and will maintain it, he said.
