HYDERABAD: Family welfare commissioner Y Srilakshmi, who is in the thick of the CBI investigation for her role in granting iron ore mining leases to the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) promoted by Gali Janardhan Reddy during the tenure of chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, made a futile attempt to meet chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy Wednesday morning. According to sources, the IAS officer, who has been on leave for the last few days, had gone out of station but returned to Hyderabad Wednesday morning from Delhi. She went to the camp office but Kiran Kumar Reddy reportedly did not want to see her. After waiting for about half an hour, she left the office. As Srilakshmi’s leave comes to an end Wednesday, she would have to report for duty Thursday. The CBI too is looking for her to elicit more information regarding the illegal mining case.
