Special pujas to mark Tamil New Year

VELLORE: Special pujas were performed in various temples across the district to mark Tamil New Year day.Abishekams and Gho puja was performed at Jalakanteswarar temple by devotees in Vellore fort, Balamurugan temple at Ratnagiri, Murugan temples at Vallimalai and Theerthagiri. Step festival was also conducted at Infant Velayudam temple at Palamathi hills. Women devotees carried milk pots from to Salai Gangaiamman temple and performed milk abishekam to the deity.
