Ajmer: A Spanish couple was attacked and allegedly molested by a group of six men in Ajmer on Monday.
The incident took place in the afternoon when the couple along with two others went to a tourist place in Ajmer. The place was secluded and a group of men - in an inebriated state - intercepted the couple and passed lewd comments.
They started following the couple and tried to molest the girl. The couple got scared and raised an alarm, which angered the accused.
They assaulted the foreigners and fled away after being challenged by the other local villagers.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and later discharged.
"We are trying to collect information about the accused persons. Such incident will tarnish the image of Rajasthan and we will take stern action against the attackers. Senior police officers were asked to provide adequate security to the foreigners," Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said.
Congress leader Sachin Pilot condemned the attack and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
