KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that a final decision on the implementation of the SmartCity project will be taken soon. Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said some clauses in the existing agreement were against the interest of the state. Efforts will be taken soon to change these clauses, he said.
Chandy, however, added that there would not be any delay in implementing the project on time. "If changing the existing clauses will delay the implementation of the project, then we will continue with the existing clauses. The project will be implemented under the IT Policies of the former UDF Government. The top priority of the government is to implement the Smart City project on time," he said.The Chief Minister visited Food and Civil Supplies Minister T M Jacob who has been hospitalised at a private hospital in Kochi. Minister designate K Babu also accompanied the Chief Minister.
