CHENNAI: A class eight student, Prabakaran, was locked in his classroom for three hours before he was rescued by his hostel warden at Tambaram on Friday. It was later found that the boy had slept in the classroom and fellow students, who did not notice him, locked up the room after school hours. The boy was staying in a hostel at near Tambaram and was studying in a government at Alapakkam. On Friday evening, Christopher, warden of the hostel found that Prabakaran had not returned . He then inquired with fellow hostellers, who said that they did not see him returning from school. Christopher then began a search for the boy and went to the school.During the search, he found Prabakarn locked in one of the classrooms. After attempts to open the door went in vain, the warden found a large gap between the grills in the window and asked the boy to squeeze himself out through it. He was rescued at around 7 pm. Police said no complaint was lodged as the students had locked the room unknowingly.
