HYDERABAD: People in the outlying locality of Saroornagar were shocked Wednesday morning by the discovery of the bodies of three women and three children floating the local lake. The bodies were found to be bound with rope, and police think the six belonged to one family and jumped into the lake in a suicide pact. Later in the evening, they found the body of a man, but think that this was a case of accidental drowning.Inspector A V R Narasimha Rao of the Saroornagar police said he received a call from a local person at 9.30 a.m. Wednesday, reporting that some dead bodies could be seen floating in the lake. Police rushed to the spot and fished them out.The bodies were in a decomposed state, making identification difficult. Police think that the six jumped into the lake three days ago. Police said two of the women wore orange saris and one a green salwar kameez. Of the three children, a boy wore a green shirt, and two girls orange dresses. The Saroornagar police have alerted all police stations in Hyderabad and Cyberabad about the discovery. Station house officers have been asked to go through missing cases in their files. “We suspect that the six persons belonged to one family. We searched around the lake but found no suicide note,’’ Narasimha Rao said.
