Siddaramaiah said the reason behind him joining Congress was to bring the party back to power in the state.
New Delhi: Former Karnataka deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday joined the Congress accusing Janata Dal (Secular) leader H D Deve Gowda for the growth of BJP in the state.
This was announced at a press conference after a meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
He claimed his main task was to bring back Congress to power in the state.
It was widely believed that it was just a matter of time before Siddaramaiah formally joined the Congress.
