BANGALORE: Lokayukta sleuths raided the premises of two IAS officials and one KAS cadre official including former Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike Commissioner Siddaiah, and recovered assets worth crores of rupees disproportionate to known sources of their income.The raids were conducted on the premises of Md A Sadiq, managing director of Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited and M V Veerabhadraiah, deputy general manager, Upper Krishna Project, Bagalkot.Addressing reporters on Tuesday, H N Sathyanarayana Rao, Additional Director General of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta said, “We carried out raids after we collected details from our sources that the three officers owned assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. We raided six premises belonging to Siddaiah, five owned by Sadiq and three by Veerabhdraiah. We filed cases against the three officers on Monday evening and carried out raids simultaneously at 14 premises in Bangalore City, Harohalli, Bagalkot, Davangere and Kalaghatagi on Tuesday morning.”According to details given by Rao, Siddaiah joined the IAS in 1976 and is said to have amassed Rs 1.90 crore while his known sources of income were only Rs 55 lakh. While Sadiq has amassed assets worth Rs 1.64 crore against his known source of income at Rs 45 lakh, M V Veerabhadraiah has amassed Rs 2.33 crore against his known source of income which stood at Rs 70 lakh.Siddaiah owns 120 acres of land in Badigere Village near Harohalli. He has furnished the approximate value of the 120 acres at just `40 lakh. Police said that they have not taken any of the above in to custody as there was no need for arrests.
