Jammu: The Shiv Sainiks have resorted to protesting and sloganeering outside former Jammu and Kashmir minister Raman Mattoo's house in Jammu.
Mattoo arrested in connection with the sex racket case, was on Wednesday remanded to four-day CBI custody by a local court in Srinagar.
Mattoo, an independent MLA representing the Habba Kadal constituency, was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate MY Akhoon who remanded him till June 24.
The CBI on Wednesday had arrested Matoo along with sitting MLA G A Mir in connection with the sex scandal.
While Mattoo was arrested from his Srinagar residence, Mir, the MLA of Dooru constituency, was arrested from Jammu and Kashmir House in New Delhi.
Mir and Mattoo, who were ministers under former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, were booked under the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act for procuring persons for prostitution.
Under this Section, the two, if convicted, will have to undergo three months imprisonment or pay a fine of Rs 20,000 or both.
Meanwhile, the Jammu Kashmir High Court has sent Deputy Inspector General, BSF, KS Padhi and three others to 14 days CBI custody in connection with the case.
