Mumbai: The two juveniles accused in photojournalist and telephone operator gangrape cases of Mumbai were on Tuesday convicted by a Mumbai court.
The court sent both the convicts to Boston School in Nashik to learn good behaviour. "The two juveniles directed to be sent to Boston School in Nashik for three years to learn good behaviour," Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told reporters.
The hearing comes at a time when debate is on over punishment to juveniles who commit heinous crime like rape.
A Mumbai Sessions Court had handed death penalty to the three repeat offenders in the Shakti Mills photojournalist gangrape case. The three - Vijay Jadhav (19), Kasim Bengali (21) and the another gangrape case in which a telephone operator was brutalised in the Shakti Mills compound in south Mumbai.
The two juveniles and are being tried separately by the Juvenile Justice Board.
