Washington: Colombian singer Shakira retorted to accusations saying that she was too lazy to introduce herself to the young American Idol contestants waiting to meet her after her guest appearance on the hit show.
"She wasn't interested in meeting the kids," Contact music quoted, the programme's executive producer Ken Warwick as saying.
The belly dancing singer even wrote a letter of apology to the producers of American Idol who complained about her behaviour on the March 29 show, claiming that she didn't know that the contestants were waiting for her, and missed them by accident
Explaining that it was a misunderstanding, she said, "I was actually meeting with WYCLEF (Jean), and someone from my team told me, 'Oh, the kids are ready for you. But nobody ever told me that they were the American Idol kids and that they had a really restricted time to meet me."
