THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The HC decision on Friday to stay the admissions to engineering colleges has come as a setback to the third round of allotment to professional colleges scheduled to begin on Sunday. The activities relating to the third phase of allotment should have commenced on August 21. The court had ordered to maintain status quo in the engineering admission process. The case would come up for hearing again on Monday. Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) B S Mavoji told Express that a decision on the third allotment proceedings would be taken only after Monday, in the light of the High Court verdict taying further engineering allotments. However, the court verdict will not affect the second allotment as the time for remitting fees in the second allotment had been over by Friday. This meant that admissions to engineering colleges has also run into trouble with this verdict.
