To match the Telangnana JAC’s  Telangana March on Sept. 30, the Samaikyandhra Students JAC resolved on Sunday to organise a Chalo Hyderabad programme on that very day to press for a united state.

Addressing a meeting of the committee at  the Venkateshwara University here, JAC founder P Harikrishna Yadav and honorary president Prof Krishna Mohan Reddy urged students from all over Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema to converge at railway stations on Sept 29 so as to reach Hyderabad on Sept  30. A Samaikyandhra flag will be hoisted in the heart of the state capital that day, they explained.

The JAC leaders also resolved to organise  meetings in all universities and district headquarters before Sept. 25 to explain the need to intensify the Samaikya Andhra movement.

The JAC leaders said they have approached primary education minister S Sailajanath seeking an appointment with the governor and chief minister to urge them to keep the state united.

Stating that the credit for the union government taking back its decision to carve out a state of Telangana would go to the struggle waged by the Samaikyandhra Student JAC, he called upon the people to teach a lesson to political parties and leaders who are supporting bifurcation of  the state.

Observing that Rayalaseema, North Coastal Andhra as well as Adilabad and Mahbubnagar districts in Telangana remained the most backward parts of the state, the student leaders said division of the state was not at all a solution.

Recalling the demolition of the statues of  eminent persons on the Tank Bund, they said if the government cannot erect the statues, they will take up the task.
