HYDERABAD/ELURU: With specific inputs of faction warlord Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri's killer P Bhanu Kiran alias Bhanu's movement in West and East Godavari districts, state police intensified their manhunt on Sunday. Though the search was limited to the West Godavari district on Saturday, police and sleuths of the Crime Investigation Department have extended their search for the absconding accused in the neighbouring East Godavari district.
"We have inputs about the movement of Bhanu Kiran in East and West Godavari districts,'' a senior police official said. Eluru Range DIG G Suryaprakasha Rao said they were searching hotels, lodges and also the agency and sea shore villages in both districts.It is suspected that Bhanu acquired properties in West Godavari and had visited a village near Mogaltur mandal during November first week. Sources said Bhanu shifted his base from the district even before police got wind of his movements. Police, however, are hopeful to narrow down on persons who might have given him shelter during his stay in the village. Police also suspect Bhanu might not have fled to a faroff place or crossed the state's border and would be shifted his base to the neighbouring East Godavari district. "The searches will go on till we catch him,'' the DIG said. Police of neighbouring districts were also alerted about Bhanu's movements and frisking has been intensified on borders of these districts. Bhanu is at large since January after allegedly gunning down Suri in Jubilee Hills area.
