HYDERABAD: The Sakala Janula Samme which has paralysed administration and transport services since September 13, has led to huge revenue losses for the South Central Railway, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority.The SCR has suffered losses to the tune of `11 crore in the last two days due to the rail roko. SCR officials said on the first day of the strike, as many as 2,61,034 passengers cancelled tickets, a loss of over `3.10 crore. On Friday, 29,817 passengers cancelled tickets causing a loss of about `29.74 lakh. On Sunday, 2,40,913 passengers cancelled their tickets, causing a loss of around `2.23 crore. Overall, the total loss due to ticket cancellations is over `5.86 crore.Similarly, the GHMC has been hit in its revenue collections due to the strike. On a normal working day, revenue collection is around `6 to `8 crore in form of payment of property tax, trade licence fee, building permission fees and issuing of birth and death certificates. The total loss to the GHMC since last five days has been over `30 crore. Even the Layout Regularisation Scheme has been badly hit. As the last date for LRS is September 30, the GHMC was expecting `10 crore through LRS.HMDA revenue collection has also been hit due to the strike. Since the Samme began, it has suffered losses of around `3 crore.
