New Delhi: The Supreme Court has refused to entertain a plea from Islamic organisations the dress code put in place by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT).

The Muslims groups had demanded that female Muslim students should be allowed to wear head scarves during CBSE AIPMT, which is set to take place on Saturday.

The apex court had scrapped the exam earlier in 2015 after the answer keys were leaked.

According to the new regulations for the examination, students are not allowed to wear religious items like scarves and pendants among others in an attempt to mitigate cheating during the exam.
