BANGALORE: A campaign called Save the Girl Child kickstarted at IFIM with a 4 km marathon in association with cry as a tribute—NAMAN 2011. NAMAN 2011 is a 3 day celebration open for all corporate fraternities and colleges. The other shows lined up were fashion show and dance that took place on November 23; management competition and rock show on November 24; and a DJ night on November 25 evening. This was an initiative at electronic city that encouraged all corporate and colleges to support the noble cause. Eminent guests Dr Sharan Patil, chairman SPARSH hospitals and Sharath Gayakwad, international level indian swimmer from international wheel chairs and amputee sports federation (IWAS) were present on the occassion. The event offered a platform for post graduate students from the management background in the areas of HR, marketing, finance, operations, I.T. and in cultural activities to showcase their skills and abilities.The final day also saw the presence of B Jyoti Prakash Mirji, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Bangalore. He confirmed his presence for the grand finale on November 25 at IFIM College; to boost the morale of all the participants. Save the girl child campaign saw enthusiastic participation from corporate fraternity, students from academic institutions, NGOs, social service organizations, and media. All and out it turned to be a successful affair with innumerable participants.
