New Delhi: With the arrival of the new year, reports about the Galaxy S5 launch have started coming thick and fast. Now a new report from Bloomberg has come out which claims that Samsung will release its Galaxy S5 smartphone by April. Speculations are rife that Samsung may pair the next-gen Galaxy Gear smartwatch with the new flagship smartphone.
The company, reportedly, is studying using eye scanner technology for the first time as it prepares its upcoming smartphone to compete with Apple's iPhones.
"We've been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time," Bloomberg quotes Lee Young Hee, executive vice president, mobile business, Samsung, as saying.
If rumours are to be believed, the phone will run Android 4.4 KitKat, and come packed with a 4,000 mAh battery and 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy S5 may come with a metallic body, instead of a plastic case that we have always seen in Samsung's phones. The upcoming handset is likely to come powered by a 64-bit, eight-core Exynos processor.
The new Galaxy Band, on the other band, is expected to come loaded with sensors for capturing data on motion, pressure and temperature, things that are essential for fitness trackers.
