RTA staff to put in extra hours

HYDERABAD: The Road Transport Authority officials are taking steps to clear driving licence applications and vehicle registrations which had piled up during the Sakala Janula Samme. As many as 40,000 learning, permanent licence applications and 70,000 vehicles registrations are pending in Telangana region, including Hyderabad and Secunderabad due to the RTA employees’ strike from Sept 13 to Oct 24.Road transport commissioner Hiralal Samariya told Express that working hours for staff in RTA offices in Telangana had been increased to clear the pending applications.
