New Delhi: Investigators in India claim to have clinching evidence of Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e Mohammad's involvement in the Pathankot attack, probe details exclusively accessed by CNN-IBN on Thursday showed.
Most of the evidence came from the phone calls made to Pakistan by the six terrorists who attacked the Pathankot airbase on January 2.
The first set of calls were made from the mobile phone of Ikagar Singh -- the taxi driver killed allegedly by the terrorists on the night of December 31.
Investigating agencies found that calls were made to three numbers in Pakistan between 9:12 pm and 11:20 pm.
The calls went to the numbers a) +92345303XXX b)+92321313XXXX and c) +92301777XXXX.
The number +92321313XXXX was found linked to the Markaz Usman-o-Ali on the Railway Link Road in Bahawalpur, an address associated with Jaish-e Mohammad.
The number +92345303XXXX belongs to a man identified as Kashif Jan, whose Facebook account featured propaganda banners of the Jaish.
Jan is believed to be known to JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar's brother Abdul Rauf Azhar.
The next calls were made from the phone of Rajesh, the jeweller friend of Gurdaspur SP Salwinder Singh.
In the phone conversations, Pakistani handlers were heard enquiring about the welfare of the terrorists who crossed the border into India.
In one of the conversations, the mother of one of the terrorists referred to her son as a "lion" for joining jihad.
This could serve as crucial evidence, undeniable proof that Pakistan would find hard to ignore.
