CPM state secretary G V Srirama Reddy on Monday appealed to politicians not to politicise the Cauvery issue.
“People have to respect the judiciary. They cannot go against the Constitution to protest any issue. This is unpardonable. We have to progress responsibly,” Reddy said. Speaking at the CD launch of a Kannada documentary titled Matte Bara Beda (Let’s Not Have Drought Again), Reddy said, “We understand there is great injustice done to the people of this state but that does not allow a few people to follow unconstitutional methods”.
Commenting on Netravathi river diversion, Reddy made it clear that Dr Paramashivaiah report does not speak of Nethravathi river diversion and it has been misinterpreted and misrepresented by media.
Reddy criticised the Yettinahole project, which envisaged to solve water issues in Bangalore Rural, Chikkballapur, Tumkur, Kolar and Ramanagaram and said it is unlikely to be a success.
