Rajiv case: PT leader walks out

CHENNAI: The leader of Puthiya Thamizhagam K Krishnasamy on Friday staged a walk-out protesting against Speaker D Jayakumar’s refusal to raise death sentence to Rajiv Gandhi case convicts.  Krishnasamy’s remarks, the Speaker ruled, would not go on record in the proceedings. Since his repeated requests were turned down by the Speaker, Krishnasamy staged a walk-out.  Talking to mediapersons, Krishnasamy said he was trying to raise the issue of death sentence awarded to convicts - Perarivalan, Santhan and Murugan. As his request was turned down, he had staged a walk-out.
