BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Women and Narcotic Squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested two persons, including a woman on charges of running a prostitution racket.One of the accused has been identified as Irfan (21), a native of Puttur in Mangalore District. He was working as a driver for a 26-year-old woman, the other accused, who hails from Kamatipura of Mumbai. The duo were living in the Grape Garden apartment in Vivekanagar.According to the police, the woman reportedly had contacts with film actresses and models. She would post advertisements about them in various websites and charge up to `1 lakh from customers. Irfan allegedly introduced girls to the woman and forced them into prostitution, the police added.The police had received information that she had arranged for a girl for a Kanpur- based 39-year-old businessman and raided a room on the fifth floor of Citadel Hotel, near Ananda Rao Circle and arrested the two.Police have seized `90,000, a car and a mobile phone from them.A case has been registered in High Grounds police station in this regard and investigations are on.  BANGALORE: As an aftermath of two suicides, a seven-year-old boy, who tried to imitate suicide act in front of his classmates, died accidentally. The incident was reported in Government Higher Primary School in Adepete in Nelamangala police station limits on Monday.The deceased Karthik, a second standard student, was a son of cab driver.According to the police, Usha, a cook in the school had committed suicide due to family disputes on Sunday.The next day, school authorities had taken the students to pay last respects to the late employee. After the students returned to school, Karthik, a mischief in school, tied a belt around his neck and hung himself to a grill of the window.While his classmates watched, Karthik, who enacted the suicide act on a bench, accidentally slipped and the noose got tightened, the police said. Lakshmidevamma, a teacher, who saw her pet student hanging to the grill, fainted and suffered heart attack.The school staff rushed both to the hospital. However, Karthik was in coma and was kept under observation.On Tuesday morning, Karthik died in the hospital, the police informed.“Around 20 days back, Karthik’s uncle had committed suicide by hanging at Karthik’s house. These two incidents might have influenced the child to do this prank, which took his life. Karthik has not tried suicide”, the police added.Nelamangala Town police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
