New Delhi: It is raining comedies at the box office. The latest is debutant director Dibakar Banerjee's Khosla Ka Ghosla, which is all about the generation gap in an Indian middle-class home.
This Anupam Kher-Boman Irani-starrer was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival in May and received paeans of praises.
Set in northern India, the film revolves around a hilariously cranky control freak, Kamal Kishore Khosla (Anupam Kher), who is obsessed with procuring a plot of land in Delhi for which he has been saving money for years.
He hopes to build a house on the plot and live with his children and grandchildren.
But after he gets the land, he realises that the plot had been acquired by a charmingly wicked land shark (Boman Irani) who won't give it back until Khosla coughs up a fat sum of money.
Like any other middle-class family, the Khosla family breaks up at this new bolt from the blue. Khosla tries various ploys to take control of his plot but in vain.
Just when he is about to give up, his life takes a turn when he finds out that the most unexpected people have hatched a crazy and thrilling plan to bail him out.
To know who these people are, watch the fun-flick.
Khosla Ka Ghosla is scripted by Jaideep Sahni of Jungle and Company fame and produced by Tandav Film Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
Shot in Delhi, Khosla ka Ghosla also stars Praveen Dabbas, Tara Sharma, Naveen Nischol, Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak.
