PUDUCHERRY: Inspector Kaliyaperumal of the Food Cell and Sub-Inspector of Lawspet Police Station Krishna Raj were selected for the President’s Award for meritorious service.This was announced by Chief Secretary M Sathiyavathy at the Independence Day celebrations here on Monday.The awards will be given to them on Republic Day, next year.Chief Minister N Rangasamy presented the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for best service to Lubin Dayalan, Sub-Inspector of Police (Special Branch), and T Meiyazhagan, Assistant Sub Inspector (Special Grade), CID unit. The trophy for the best police station for the year 2010 was awarded to Orleanpet police station. The station Sub-Inspector, R Senthil Kumar, received the trophy.The Chief Minister presented gold, silver and bronze medals to NCC cadets - A Barathi (cadet captain), Sunitl Raj (senior cadet captain) and M Jawahar (cadet junior under officer) for their outstanding performance.Rangasamy presented the Chief Minister’s police medal to P Ragoubady, SI, Grand Bazaar Police Station, and E Venkateswara Rao, Head Constable, Police Training School.The Chief Minister also gave away the Rajiv Gandhi meritorious police service medal to B Ranganathan (Inspector, Lawspet), Krishnan Unni (SI, Police Armoury Unit), A Soundiraradjane (Special Grade Police Constable, Chief Office HQ), S Nagarajan (SGPC, Orleanpet), R Arulkumar (SGPC, Muthialpet), S Tamijearassy (SG Woman PC, Odiansalai), Asokkumar (SGPC, PTS), Dharmalingam (SGPC, Odiansalai), H Dhanalakshmi (SGWPC, Chief Office HQ) and T Sridharan (SGPC, PAP).
