Police to increase vehicle checks

ALUVA: Police in the district have been advised to conduct checks on vehicles to check traffic violations, especially driving under the influence (DUI) of alchohol or other substances. The instruction was issued by Harshita Attaluri, Ernakulam Rural District Police chief on Monday. Under section 185 Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, the concentration of alcohol has been specified maximum as 30 mg/100 ml of blood detected in a test by a breath analyzer.At least 191 DUI cases have been registered in various stations. in violation of Kerala Motor Vehicle Act.The raids and inspections will continue to prevent the DUI and other traffic violations, said S P Harshita Attaluri.
