KOTTARAKKARA: The official faction of the Kerala Congress (B) is gearing up to turn the tables on K B Ganesh Kumar supporters with a massive show of strength. On Wednesday, it came up with the lists of constituency committee presidents and general secretaries in the district with Pillai to counter the claim of Ganesh Kumar supporters that 90 percent of party’s elected representatives are with the Minister.Meanwhile, R Balakrishna Pillai and supporters met here on Wednesday evening to review the situation and devise the future course of action.Though the district leadership had said that action would be taken against those elected members who attended the meeting held at Ganesh Kumar’s residence in Pathanapuram on Friday last, the party will give them a final chance to return to the Pillai-fold and swear their loyalty at a meeting to be held on May 21. All elected representatives of the party in the district have been asked to attend the meeting and those who fail to do so will face action, party sources said. Interestingly, the official faction is yet to take an account of the elected representatives who had attended Ganesh’s meeting. KC(B) Kollam regional chairman Thadathivila Radhakrishnan said that to his knowledge only four local body members attended the Pathanapuram meeting. “Some of the local body members from Pathana-puram, who have attended the meeting of Ganesh Kumar, informed us later that they support Pillai. We have to take an account of who all attended the meeting,” he said. Ganesh Kumar supporters had claimed the support of 19 elected representatives in the district. The official faction supporters at a press meet in Kollam on Wednesday alleged that Ganesh managed to woo a few local body members by promising sops and by threat.
