HYDERABAD: Physics continued to be a bugbear to not only to Intermediate students but also to the state government and to the Board of Intermediate Education this year as two errors appeared in the advanced supplementary second year examination held here on Wednesday. In Wednesday’s question paper, a part of the 13th question (a four-mark question) for Telugu medium students appeared in the 14th question, which left many students confused.Besides this, another question (19th question) was also wrongly translated from English to Telugu.Speaking to Express, a physics teacher, BS Rao said there were no errors in the English version of the question paper. The state government is conducting the supplementary examination for the benefit of students who failed or scored low in the physics paper. The BIE authorities had advanced the physics examination following statewide protests from students and parents by rescheduling the second language examination to May 16 instead of May 23.With the college managements not remitting the fee on time and BIE not issuing hall tickets to the students without receiving the requisite exam fee, several thousands of students missed the physics exam on Wednesday. If the BIE did not reschedule the physics exam to May 16 very few people would have missed the exam, Government College Lecturers Association general secretary P Madusudhna Reddy said.Secondary education minister K Parthasarathi told newsmen in Vijayawada that they have advanced physics exam following protests from students and wide coverage in the media.Physics exam also holds the key for better rank in Eamcet as it was tough compared to chemistry and mathematics.
