Islamabad: A bomb exploded near a passenger van in Pakistan's Northwest tribal region Sunday, killing one person and wounding 19 others, a media report said. The remote-controlled bombing took place in Sadda Khar Kalay area of Kurram Agency, a volatile tribal area along the Afghan border, Xinhua reported.
The van carrying 30 people was heading towards Peshawar from Kurram Agency capital Parachinar when it was attacked. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but hardliner Sunni Muslims have often attacked vans carrying Shias in the past in the region.
