THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Making use of Information Technology (IT), over one lakh teachers in the state will be provided online coaching. Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA), in association with IT@ school and Kerala Mahila Samakhya Society will provide coaching as part of its Help desk programm . SSA started its help desk when there was a spurt in cases of drug abuse and sexual abuse among children. The students can call the Help desk at any time for assistance. A “ Consolation box” will also be installed at the schools. The first phase of coaching will be held on August 2,3,4,8 and 9. The coaching will be held at the teacher’s own school from 1.30 pm to 2.15 pm. Teachers and parents can directly participate in the coaching through the 14 satellite interactive terminals in the state . Doubts will be cleared through telephone and e-mails. Teachers of standard V to VIII of 6000 schools and interested parents can participate in the coaching.
