Haji Mastan’s daughter, Shamshad Supariwala, has filed an additional affidavit against the producers of Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. She is taking all the legal actions possible to ensure that the film doesn’t defame the image of her late father.
“The producers of the film are saying that the film is not based on Haji Mastan where as Ajay Devgn is telling in his interviews that his character his based on Haji. Kangana has also mentioned that she is playing Mastan’s wife," said Shamshad outside a city court.
Shamshad has been taking all the steps by consulting Hussain Sharif, nephew of late Haji Mastan. Though he didn’t accompany Shamshad to the court yesterday, he believes that justice will prevail. “From the beginning we have said that all we want is to have a look at the film before its releases. But these guys (Milan and Ekta) didn’t bother. Now that the film’s release date is near, they have started panicking," says Husssain.
Even Shamshad maintained the same argument that they would like to watch the film and if there are any scenes defaming her father, then she would want them to be edited.
She concludes, “We have submitted the affidavit in the court and the case has been delayed till tomorrow (July 29). I don’t understand why the producers are refraining from showing us the film.”
Ekta Kapoor did not comment anything about the issues. “The matter is still in court,” that’s all she said outside the court.
