HYDERABAD: Task Force sleuths on Sunday raided a flat at Deevan Dewdi in the Old City and nabbed seven persons who were indulging in gambling.On information, Task Force sleuths raided a flat in Noor Mahal complex at Deevan Dewdi and nabbed the seven accused and seized more than `23,000, mobile phones and several playing cards. Police said the gambling den was being organised by Syed Izhar, owner of the flat. Izhar earlier used to run a furniture business but it ran into losses and he closed it down last year. To earn easy money, he starting running the gambling den from his flat by inviting his friends and relatives and collecting money to organise the game.To encourage the players, Izhar also used to play the game, Task Force additional deputy commissioner of police M Srinivasulu said. The other accused include Md Imran and Abdul Raheem alias Pasha of Laad Bazaar, Md Azeemuddin of Misri Gunj, Syed Saher of Deevan Dewdi and Syed Majaz and Syed Faraz of Chatta Bazaar.Police said Majaz is the brother of Izhar, and was earlier arrested by the police in a similar case.The nabbed persons were handed over to the Mir Chowk police for further action.
