New Delhi: A 10-year-old girl weighing 105 kg, believed to be the heaviest child in Aizwal in Mizoram has died from unknown ailments.
C Lalmalsawmi was born a normal child weighing three kg, according to medical reports. However, within a year, she gained 15 kg due to her phenomenal growth rate.
''Since, her mental growth was very slow, she rarely played with girls of her age,'' said her parents adding she started attending school as late as six years.
''She was brought under medical attention in 2004 and with the doctors' advise we went to AIIMS. However, doctors assured us there was nothing wrong although her mental growth did not match her physical growth,'' said Lalmalsawmi's father Thanchungnunga.
Her health started deteriorating since January-end following a cold and swelling in various parts of her body.
Lallamsawni who died on Sunday was reported to be suffering from pneumonia and kidney dysfunction only a fortnight ago, Tanchungnunga added.
