BANGALORE: After Bangalore University Vice-Chancellor Dr N Prabhu Dev and Dr Sitaram Jindal, it is now the turn of the Registrar to come clean on the controversy surrounding the proposed School of Economics. The Registrar, in a statement, denied his role in the ‘malicious’ campaign as alleged by the Jindal Foundation. “When the file came to me on November 16, I immediately signed the notification regarding establishment of the School and also constituted a committee for identifying the land on the directions of the vice-chancellor. This is a clear picture that as Registrar I have an open mind on this issue,” he stated, denying any tussle between the VC and himself. “As Registrar, I regret for the misrepresentation through the press either against Jindal Group or against the University on this vital academic issue,” the Registrar said, adding that the School would provide “An excellent academic interaction among the student community, teachers and public.”He further put on the record that he “Never commented or spoke anything adverse on the proposed school either through the press or media.”
