No abduction, Noida fashion designer Shipra Malik left home due to family rift
Shipra Malik, who owns a boutique in Noida, had left her home following a property dispute in the family.

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday ruled out a kidnapping angle in the disappearance case of Noida-based fashion designer Shipra Malik. Addressing a press conference Meerut Range DIG Lakshmi Singh said that the police prima facie did not find any criminal intent in the case.

According to police, Shipra Malik, who owns a boutique in Noida, had left her home in Noida on February 29 following a property dispute in the family.

The fashion designer has told the police that she left her home and went to an ashram. It was there that she saw on TV reports of her getting kidnapped. "To save embarrassment, she informed her husband, who then informed the Noida police. Then SSP Noida went there with a team," said Meerut range DIG.

When asked about a PCR call made by the woman before she went missing, the police said that Shipra Malik wanted to say that she is going on her own wish and does not want her family to be troubled.

Pointing that the fashion designer did not find any complaint, the police said that they have already initiated a probe to verify her claims by Friday evening.

The police will not act in the case if the claims of the boutique owner are found to be true. "There is no criminal liability if a woman just walks out of her home due to some personal conflict," said police.

Shipra Malik, who had gone missing on Monday, was found in a village near Gurgaon earlier on Friday. Shipra, who owns a boutique in Noida, was found in a house in a village on Jhajjar road almost 30 kilometers from Gurgaon.

Chetan Malik, her husband who is a local builder, had filed a missing complaint with the Noida police. The family did not receive any ransom call.
