JEYPORE: Blame it on administration’s apathy, Narayanpatna has remained cut off from April 20 after Maoists dug up roads and felled trees during the two-day bandh. They were demanding withdrawal of forces and a stop to operations against the Maoists.However, even after nine days, the roads are yet to repaired and the trees removed. With communication links cut off, people of Narayanpatna block are struggling to meet their daily needs.People also fear venturing out suspecting explosives at the blockade sites. Mediapersons, covering the release of legislator Jhina Hikaka, who reached the block with great difficulties informed the administration of the problem but in vain. Meanwhile, the locals have demanded that the roads be cleared immediately to resume normal life.
