BANGALORE: With Metro oscillation trials scheduled for Wednesday, the officials from the Railway Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow, had a busy field day here on Monday.
The RDSO officials arrived in the city on Sunday evening. All the equipment that they had brought were transported to the Byappanahalli metro station.A group of officials on Monday afternoon took a ride on the metro train from Byappanahalli to assess the requirements to carry out the test. Meanwhile, a metro coach in the inspection shed is being fitted with the sensors and measuring systems to carry out the oscillation and emergency brake distance trial.

"The RDSO officials are in town but the trials will begin only by Wednesday, as the coaches will have to be fitted with testing equipment first," BMRCL Engineer and Chief Spokesperson B L Y Chavan said.

"The RDSO officials will test the Metro on various speed and parameters and based on it, a new speed certificate will be issued to the Bangalore metro," RDSO Executive Director (Administration) A K Mathur said.

Notwithstaind a steady progress, BMRCL is yet to come out with a definite deadline.
