Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Monday sought to dismiss reports that described him as saying there was no Modi wave in the country, and denied there were any differences between Modi and him.

"There is nothing like differences between me and (Narendra) Modi. He is the party's most popular leader and he represents the party."

"I said people are frustrated with the misrule of the Congress-led UPA and Modi is the natural leader to reflect the feeling of the people against the government," he said.

Joshi, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Kanpur, was seeking to clarify reports arising out of a television interview that he had dismissed a Modi wave in the country and that it was only BJP wave.

Referring to the debate over growth models, he said he had always maintained that India was a huge country with several climatic zones, agro-diversities and that there could be no one strait-jacket model for the entire country.

Joshi said the development model of Jammu and Kashmir could not be applied to Kerala and what applies to coastal areas cannot fit a desert region.

He said the BJP manifesto provides for various councils to go into issues and find solutions for development of various zones.
