New Delhi: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has said that mobile phone charging facilities would be provided in general class coaches and the number of charging facilities would also be increased in Sleeper Class coaches.
At present there are only two charging points in the Sleeper Class coaches of some trains. The charging points are near the toilets, making it difficult for the passengers to charge their mobile phones.
Presenting the Railway Budget 2015-16 in Parliament on Thursday, Prabhu said mobile phone charging facilities would be provided in general class coaches and the number of charging facilities would also be increased in Sleeper Class coaches.
Besides, Indian Railways' Delhi Division is taking up a project for introducing on-board entertainment on select Shatabdi trains on licence fee basis. Prabhu said depending on the response, the facility will be extended on all Shatabdi trains.
