CHENNAI: Three class nine students gave Pallavaram police a sleepless night after they went missing on Friday and were traced on Sunday. Police said three girls studying in class nine in a government school in Pallavaram, had reached Priya’s (name changed) home after school on Friday. After changing out of their uniforms, they took a bus to Priya’s friend’s house in Ennore and stayed there. The parents of Priya’s friend at Ennore were unaware that the girl had escaped even as their parents began a search for them in Pallavaram. On Saturday evening, a complaint was filed.Police spent the night searching for the girls in Pallavaram and at their relatives’ houses in Ennore and Thiruvottiyur. “A team was even ready to head to Puducherry,” a police official said.Just when the search was in full swing, cops received information that the girls were found in Guindy Estate. Police said, after newspapers carried reports about the girls, parents of Priya’s friend in Ennore asked them to return home. They then boarded a bus to Guindy from where they had to take a bus to Pallavaram. They were waiting in Guindy Estate for a long time and two women constables, becoming suspicious,  inquired with the girls, when they said that they were the missing girls. The cops then took the girls to the Guindy station. Sources said that girls escaped as Priya was being forced into marriage.
