Mishap victim dies, mob attacks Hospital

ALUVA:  The residents of Cheriatheckanam, Chalakka and nearby areas stormed into SN Medical College Hospital, Chalakka, near here, alleging negligence on the part of the hospital staff in treating an accident victim, who died at Lourde Hospital in Pachalam later.Sajeev, 25, of Cheriatheckanam, was injured after his motor bike collided with a tipper lorry.  He was rushed to SN Medical College Hospital, where the doctors told his relatives that he had suffered a fracture in his leg. However, his condition deteriorated later forcing the relatives to take him to Lourde Hospital.  Sajeev died soon after he was brought to Lourde Hospital.An angry crowd stormed the Medical College hospital and destroyed the ambulance van, a car and window panes. An X-ray technician and a security guard were injured in the attack. The police rushed to the hospital and brought the situation under control.
