Militants hurled two grenades on a police party, followed by firing, at security personnel who were on duty near the Degree College in Pulwama town, 32 kms from here, a police official said.

After witnessing massive unrest in the past 45 days, the Home Minister Rajnath Singh is in Srinagar to meet all the stakeholders and strike peace in the valley.

He said a Dy SP and eight other security personnel including four CRPF jawans were injured in the attack.

The area was immediately cordoned off and an operation was launched to track down the assailants, he added.
